Horses of the North October 3-5, 2025
Iceland on horseback, as few have seen it – and as we love it!
A weekend that feels like a journey to another world: for experienced riders, we open the gates to an Icelandic experience far from tourism and clichés. What we’ve lived, learned, and explored over the years, we now share in this one-of-a-kind retreat.
Please note, in order to ride the Icelandic horse you have to be in relatively good shape.

Three days dedicated to horses, nature, and the true North
Surrounded by raw, untouched landscapes, with a view of the horses in their natural environment, you’ll stay in luxurious two-person cottages – a peaceful haven of comfort set in the wild heart of Iceland. Each participant will be paired with one horse for the entire weekend – allowing for a quiet, steady, and attentive connection to unfold.
We’ll ride to the herds, feel the ground beneath the hooves on the beach, and dive deep into what Icelandic horse training truly means – and how we can bring parts of it into our own day-to-day work with horses back home.
Knowledge, experience, and connection
Not a mass event
No show riding
We take time. For the horses. For conversations. For feedback rounds and shared dinners. For inspiration. Somewhere between the seminars and the rides, between wind and fire, the most honest answers tend to emerge.
This weekend is for people who are confident in the saddle – in walk, trot, and canter – and open to more. To new perspectives, to old wisdoms, and to the kind of shift that happens when we don’t just ride, but truly arrive.
All inclusive. All original. All that matters.
What awaits you
Travel to and from Iceland is self-organized and not included in the price.
Frequently asked questions
If you can’t find what you are looking for, about our farm or about our horse riding tours in south coast, contact us or use this search form:
What makes Icelandic horses unique?
Icelandic horses are known for their pure breed, unique tölt gait, and friendly nature. Their small but sturdy size, thick coats, and adaptability make them perfect for Iceland’s rugged landscapes. Riding one is a true Icelandic experience!
Should beginners ride Icelandic horses?
This is probably the most asked question we get from our guests and the answer is ABSOLUTELY YES! However, it is important that you go to the right farm with the right kind of horses that will fit your riding level.
In order for you to get a real experience you should have a riding lesson so you can control your horse. Many of the large operators have horses that have been taking the same circle for years and in our mind that is not a horse friendly and definitely not a authentic horse riding experience. You want a horse that is in good mental and physical health that is going to create a true relationship with the rider which takes the experience to another level.
During your riding lessons we make sure that rider and horse develop a connection that is real, and rider feels in control of the situation but at the same time the horse accepts the rider as its leader. This is often the most rewarding part of the entire tour and not only enjoying a magic scenery but experiencing the trust that rider and horse share.
